Is Testors being discontinued?
You might’ve seen these lying around in your LGS or even Hobby Lobby, but now it appears in 2020 the Testors Model Master line is going out of production.
Why did Testors go out of business?
Spokesperson Vince Pierri said that demand for the discontinued brands has been on the decline for a number of reasons including “aging demographics, less interest among younger audiences and the fact that most model trains now come pre-painted.” While the company will no longer be producing those types of paint.
What happened to Testors models?
To that, we are evolving our strategy to focus more keenly on Testors, our flagship brand and are discontinuing our Pactra, Aztek, and Model Master Brands as the demand for these products continue to decline. It was bound to happen. Their quality has been declining for some time.
