Is SRAM and Truvativ the same?
Truvativ. SRAM purchased Truvativ in 2004 from Micki Kozuschek, providing SRAM with a line of cranks, bottom brackets, handlebars, stems, pedals, seatposts and chain retention systems. This allowed SRAM to offer a complete drivetrain with the first SRAM branded road groupsets being released the following year.
Can any crankset fit any bottom bracket?
In general terms, most cranksets can be fitted to a variety of bottom bracket shells, though much of this compatibility depends upon the availability of suitable hardware (see next section). Any incompatibilities that do arise are often related to the length and/or diameter of the crank axle.
Are cranksets interchangeable?

Are GXP and hollowtech compatible?
Hollowtech II cranks use also 24 mm cranks, but the GXP ones are thinner (22 mm) on the other end. It is not compatible and you need a Hollowtech II compatible press-fit BB (e.g. BB-MT800 press fit) compatible with your frame (the housing dimensions, the outer BB diameter + the housing length).
How do I know what crankset I need?
The two most important factors are axle diameter and crank length.
- Axle diameter: The two common axle diameters are 19mm and 22mm, so check before you buy that your bottom bracket is compatible.
- Crank length: This is measured from the centre of the bottom bracket axle to the centre of the pedal axle.
What is BB86 bottom bracket?
BB86/92 bottom brackets consist of bearings pressed into cups, which are then pressed into the frame. The main dimension with this standard is the inside diameter of the BB shell: 41mm.
