How long does it take for the RSPCA to do a home visit?
7-10 days
Homevisits are normally carried out within 7-10 days. Applicants must be ready to adopt the animal as soon as we receive clearance from the home visiting team.

Can RSPCA tell you who reported you?
This is also known as a Subject Access Request or SAR. This is your right to receive a copy of your personal information held by the RSPCA. Please note that a SAR only allows you to see your own data and not anyone else’s, for example, the person who reported you.
How do I contact RSPCA anonymously?
You can report concerns on 0300 1234 999 but we’re unable to accept anonymous reports. The vast majority of calls we have to respond to come in during the day and early evening and we need to make sure we have enough officers available to deal with emergencies in these peak times.

Can RSPCA seize animals?
They have NO power to stop, obstruct or otherwise detain any vehicle carrying animals. Whilst the Society’s staff issue criminal proceedings against offenders, they do so by way of private prosecution.
Do RSPCA put healthy cats down?
Myth: You put to sleep animals after they’ve been in your care for a certain number of days. Animals in our care are only euthanased on veterinary advice, or where we are legally obliged to do so.
Is it cruel to not walk a dog?
It’s OK to skip a walk. Walks are an important part of a dog’s life. They provide mental stimulation, exercise and social contact. Most dogs love them and they can be a wonderful part of our day.
Can the Rspca seize a dog?
No matter what the R.S.P.C.A. may say to you, do not be tempted to let them in without proper authority. No legal seizure of your animals can take place unless entry to your premises has taken place with proper authority.
How long does it take for the RSPCA to come out?
Although we reply to the majority of complaints within 25 working days, if the matter is complex and requires greater investigation it may take longer. If this is the case, we will contact you again to let you know and advise how much longer it will take and why.
