How do you take care of a Sarracenia?
Watering
- Keep it permanently wet – This plant needs to be wet or at the very least moist almost all year round. Do not let it dry out at all.
- Use the right type of water – carnivorous plants need acidic water and using neutral or alkaline water for long periods will kill your plant.
Should Sarracenia sit in water?
The most common way to grow Sarracenia is in pots sitting in water. For mature specimen plants, pots 16 to 20 cm (6 to 8 in) wide work best. The pots should always be sitting in about 4 to 6 cm of water. Sarracenia should never be allowed to dry out.

Re: Feeding Sarracenia Was the fly alive? Its not normally a good idea to feed any Cp dead food. They work by getting their pray “drunk” on the nectar so they fall in the plant and there the bacteria get to work!
